Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 30 November 2006 at 11:33 pm

The Celtics were looking good when the 4th quarter started as they were leading the game 84-76. Then the wheels fell off as the Nets outscored the Celtics 30-19 in the 4th quarter.

Paul Pierce led the way with 31 points, 5 assists and 3 steals. Wally Szczerbiak had a good game with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Sebastian Telfair did a good job of directing the offense with 13 points and 5 assists. Al Jefferson was solid as a rock off the bench with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Ryan Gomes was busy with 5 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists.

The Celtics fell to 5-9 with this loss.

Celtics pathetic in 101-77 loss to Knicks

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 28 November 2006 at 3:35 am

Where do I start with this game? The Knicks outscored the Celtics 49-30 in the second half! The Knicks shot 50% from the floor and out-rebounded the Celtics 48-30. With all of those things combined….it spelled disaster for the Celtics.

Wally Szczerbiak (16 points), Paul Pierce (12 points) and Sebastian Telfair (10 points) were the only Celtics that put out any effort on a lousy Friday Night.

The Celtics fell to 4-8 on the season with this loss.

Celtics look flat in loss 92-83 loss to Bobcats

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 23 November 2006 at 12:33 am

With the exception of Paul Pierce, it looked like the Celtics thought tonight was a night off. Pierce led the way with 28 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Ryan Gomes added 12 points & 5 rebounds. Sebastian Telfair had 7 points, 7 assists and 2 steals.

The Celtics fell to 4-7 after this pathetic loss.

Celtics destroy the Blazers 118-90

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 18 November 2006 at 1:14 am

The Celtics were on fire from the floor as they hit 51.3% of their shots as a team! Paul Pierce led the way, as usual, with 29 points & 6 rebounds. Wally Szczerbiak added 19 points for the Celts. Delonte West had a fine game off the bench with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Sebastian Telfair did a great job of directing the Celtics attack with 15 points & 7 assists.

The Celtics have now put two great efforts in a row and have improved to 3-6 on the season.

Wally Szczerbiak stepping up

Blogged under Front Page,Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Thursday 16 November 2006 at 2:20 pm

Wally Szczerbiak is having a strong start to the season and he’s giving the Celtics a huge second option on the offense. Wally has averaged 22.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game so far this season. Szczerbiak has been absolutely been shooting the lights out which is opening the paint up for Paul Pierce and the other frontcourt players for the Celtics. Szczerbiak is hitting 46.4% of his FGs, 52.0% of his 3-point shots and 88.9% of his free-throws.Â

The Celtics just need someone else besides Szczerbiak and Pierce to give them some offense, because the Celtics are not a good defensive team.

Celtics dominate the Pacers 114-88

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Thursday 16 November 2006 at 12:36 am

The Celtics took out all of their frustration from a rough start to the season out on the Pacers. The Celtics out-scored the Pacers 67-43 in the second half to cruise to victory. The Celtics shot 50% from the floor, out-rebounded the Pacers 53-33 and held the Pacers to 38.3% shooting from the floor.

Paul Pierce had an excellent game with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Wally Szczerbiak pitched in with 20 points & 4 rebounds. Ryan Gomes was excellent with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 3 steals. Kendrick Perkins was dominating in the paint with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.

The Celtics were on fire all night long and improved their record to 2-6 on the season.

Celtics shooting cold in 92-89 loss to Magic

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 14 November 2006 at 4:42 pm

The Celtics were real cold shooting the ball, only hitting 38.3% from the floor. The Celtics also got out-rebounded 43-34, and played horrible defense, allowing the Magic to hit 53.5% of their shots from the floor.

Paul Pierce was laying alot of bricks last night, as he only hit 6 of 20 from the floor. Pierce wound up with 21 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Wally Szczerbiak (14 points), Delonte West (13 points) and Ryan Gomes (12 points) each helped out with the offense. Rookie second-round pick Leon Powe played a great game with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.

The Celtics are playing very poorly. That can’t shoot, rebound or defend. They’re looking like the worst team in the NBA so far at 1-6.

Celtics choke in 94-93 loss to Cavs

Blogged under Front Page by Nothing but Net on Sunday 12 November 2006 at 9:21 am

The Celtics came out of their locker room breathing fire to hold the Cavs to 10 points in the first quarter. The Celtics were coasting the whole game and leading 76-60 after three quarters. But, the Cavs rose up in the 4th quarter and out-scored the Celtics 34-17 in the 4th quarter to win the game!

Paul Pierce was cold as ice as he only hit 6 of 19 shots from the floor for 19 points, he also had 9 rebounds. Sebastian Telfair had his best game as a Celtic with 15 points & 5 assists. Kendrick Perkins was a force in the paint as he scored 12 points & snatched 11 rebounds. Delonte West got the start in place of Wally Szczerbiak (did not play) and had a solid game with 12 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Ryan Gomes had a decent game with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Celtics played great for 3 quarters, but it wasn’t enough. The Celtics need to get a killer instinct to finish games off because there is no excuse for losing this game!
