The Celtics look to be much better in the 2nd half of the season

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 20 February 2007 at 2:54 pm

The Celtics played awful in the first half of the season, but their were valid reasons for that. Paul Pierce, Wally Szczerbiak and Tony Allen all missed big chunks of time, but Pierce and Szczerbiak are back and that should help the Celtics out big time. Paul Pierce gives the Celtics the go-to man that they didn’t have while he was out. What the Celtics did find out was that their young players (Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes and Delonte West) are pretty good. It’s not as if the Celtics have been getting blown out this season, but they have found interesting ways to lose close games. Look for the Celtics to be very improved in the second half of the season.

The Celtics dominate the Bucks 117-97 in Boston

The Celtics finally broke through and ended their 18-game losing streak last night. Paul Pierce guaranteed a victory and then he went out on the court and backed it up with 32 points and 4 assists. Gerald Green had an awesome game last night. He only played 20 minutes last night and he scored 21 points! He shot 8 of 9 from the floor and 5 for 5 on three pointers! Al Jefferson also had a solid game with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The Celtics improved to 13-38 with this win. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270214002

Why is Michael Olowokandi even on the Celtics roster?

Blogged under Bloglockers, Need to step up, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 13 February 2007 at 2:11 pm

The fact that Olowokandi is even on the Celtics roster is baffling to me. He has no future with the Celtics and he hasn’t done much when he has got on the court. He has averaged 9.9 minutes, 1.7 points and 2.1 rebounds per game this season and he’s only shooting 39.5% from the floor which is pathetic for a center. The Celtics should have given the 188 minutes that Olowokandi has played to Kendrick Perkins or Leon Powe.Â

The Celtics lose a heartbreaker 109-107 to the Timberwolves in Minnesota

The Celtics played their butts off last night, but ex-Celtic Ricky Davis hit the game winning shot with 0.2 seconds left in the game! The Celtics lost despite shooting 53.8% from the floor as a team. Paul Pierce started and played great last night as he scored 29 points, grabbed 2 rebounds, dished out 2 assists, blocked 1 shot and stole the ball twice. Ryan Gomes has had a solid game to back up Pierce as he scored 17 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and stole the ball three times.

The Celtics lost their 18th game in a row and fell to 12-38 on the season. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270211016

The Celtics lose again 92-78 to the Nets in Boston

Blogged under Bloglockers, Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 10 February 2007 at 1:13 am

The Celtics lost their 17th game in a row last night by shooting a woeful 34.6% from the floor as a team. Delonte West led the way for the Celtics with 21 points and 3 steals. Al Jefferson also had a good game with 13 points and 17 rebounds. On the bright side, at least Paul Pierce returned tonight…but he didn’t play too well as he looked rusty.

The Celtics fell to 12-37 on the season with this loss. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270209002
