Al Jefferson a bright light in a dim season
You can’t blame PF/C Al Jefferson for the Celtics stinking it up this season as he’s been playing out of his mind. The Celtics nurtured him along his first two seasons in the league but this year they had absolutely nothing to lose by letting him get a lot of minutes and he’s rewarding them for doing that. Jefferson is averaging 14.0 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.4 blocks per game this season. Those are pretty good numbers that for a young player that teams are game planning to stop now. He’s shooting 48.3% from the floor, which is pretty good, even though most of those shots are coming from close range. The one area he needs to improve on is his free throw shooting as he only makes 67.5% of those.Â
