Allen Ray leaves the Boston Celtics to play in Italy
The Celtics have lost guard Allen Ray as he has decided to play the next two seasons in Italy. He played decent for the Celtics as a rookie last season. He played in 47 games (5 starts) and he averaged 6.2 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. He shot 38.6% from the floor, 41.4% from three point range and 76.4% from the free throw line. Ray likely saw the trade for Ray Allen as blocking him from ever having an opportunity to start in Boston. He also got a huge raise to play in Italy so it’s hard to blame him for leaving.
