The Celtics have signed forward James Posey to a 2-year, $7 million dollar contract. This was an excellent move by the Celtics as Posey will give them solid defense and shooting off of their bench. He played in 71 games (19 starts) last season for the Heat and he averaged 27.0 minutes, 7.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He also shot good from anywhere on the floor hitting 43.1% from the floor, 37.5% from three point range and 82.7% from the free throw line.

Over his NBA career, Posey has played in 589 games (475 starts) and he has averaged 28.4 minutes, 9.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He has made 41.6% of his shots from the floor, 34.6% from three point range and 82.1% from the free throw line.
