Kendrick Perkins is stepping up for the Boston Celtics

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Steppin Up by alleyoop on Thursday 26 November 2009 at 10:29 am

Starting center Kendrick Perkins is playing the best basketball of his NBA career right now for the Celtics. He has played in 15 games (all starts) for the Celtics this season and he is averaging 26.4 minutes, 10.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 2.0 blocked shots per game. The Celtics just require Perkins to play defense and rebound but he has developed a decent mid-range shot which is making him very hard to defend because of his size. The Celtics hope that Perkins can keep up the good work because the team is really benefitting from it.

Ray Allen is in a shooting slump for the Boston Celtics

Blogged under Big Celtics News,Bloglockers,NBA Blogs,Need to step up by Andrew on Wednesday 18 November 2009 at 12:12 am

Ray Allen has one of the sweetest jump shots in the history of the game and is one of the best three points shooters ever, but he has been struggling lately from behind the arc.  Allen, who is a career 40% three point shooter, has not been himself lately and is one of the reasons the Celtics have lost two straight games and are 5-3 this month.  Allen is only shooting 32% from three this season and has been particularly bad this month.  In eight games this November, Allen is only 7-29 on threes which is a pathetic 24%.  Allen has only scored over 20 points once in that time span and has looked out of rhythm.  Allen is one of the best shooters of all-time though, so I don’t expect this shooting slump to last very long.  He does need to get himself out this funk soon and help Paul Pierce with the perimeter scoring.

Indiana Pacers 113, Boston Celtics 104

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Game Recaps,General by alleyoop on Sunday 15 November 2009 at 8:36 am

Paul Pierce also didn’t have his best game last night with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. The Celtics are now 8-3 on the year.

There’s not much playing time available for Lester Hudson on the Boston Celtics

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by alleyoop on Saturday 14 November 2009 at 12:59 pm

25-year old rookie shooting guard Lester Hudson will likely only get garbage time minutes as a rookie unless the Celtics suffer a lot of injuries at his position. Hudson has played in 6 games (0 starts) for the Celtics this season and he is averaging 5.5 minutes, 1.8 points, 0.2 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. Don’t look for Hudson to make much of an impact this season for the Celtics.
