Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Big Celtics News, Front Page, Injuries by alleyoop on Thursday 10 December 2009 at 12:42 am

The Celtics have lost back-up SG/SF Marquis Daniels for the next 6-8 weeks due to thumb surgery. Daniels has played in 19 games (0 starts) for the Celtics this season and he is averaging 20.4 minutes, 5.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. Maybe the Celtics will get Tony Allen out of the mothballs and get him some court time now. Allen has only played in 1 game for the Celtics this season playing in six minutes in which he has not scored. He does have 1 rebound and 1 assist on the year. The Celtics should be able to handle being without Daniels as they have a really deep basketball team.

Rajon Rondo is playing very well for the Celtics this season. He has played in 20 games (all starts) this season and he is averaging 33.3 minutes, 11.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 9.0 assists and 2.6 steals per game. Rondo is shooting very well from the floor hitting 54.5% from the floor but he is having serious issues at the free throw line as he is only making 40.6% of them. Rondo is the man who makes it all go for the Celtics as his defense and passing often get the break going resulting in easy points.
